1. Kohler K-3810-0 Santa Rosa Toilet
First up is the reasonably priced Santa Rosa, a toilet aimed at users more interested in comfort than in power and features.
The easy to clean one piece toilet is designed at comfort height - the seating height caters for all users of different ages and size - feel comfortable while pooping!
Most adults and especially, the elderly and the ones with knee problems will find that it’s comfortable to sit on it when relieving themselves.
Even though it’s an elongated toilet, it occupies a space of the same size as a round bowl, so buyers get the benefit of a bigger toilet but without using any extra space. The elongated bowl and seat offer lots of sitting room for thighs to rest on and as such, provides comfort to anyone sitting down.
Additionally, it also offers a larger opening for boys and men to shoot their urine on target.
A water efficient toilet with a powerful flush without the extra water usage - uses only 1.28 GPF. Even though it's a single flush toilet, it can be used as a dual-flush toilet by pushing down the lever half way and letting it go -this way it only uses 0.5 GPF
Minimal cleaning is needed with the bowl due to the AquaPiston canister, allowing a free flow of water in the bowl from all sides. There is a guarantee of no leaking by the canister design that has more coverage area than standard toilets.
What We Like:
- Compact design - ideal for most bathrooms, big or small
- Water-efficient toilet - 1.28 GPF
- Powerful flushing
- Tank refills quickly
- Seat and lid included
What We Don't Like:
- Does not come with a wax ring - purchase it separately before installing it.
- Narrow tank lid - not much room to put additional toiletries on top, e.g. toilet paper
In an astonishing turn, Kohler proposes this low priced Cimarron, a toilet with very many qualities of top-tier brands but without the heavy price tag.
Minimal back pain is encountered when you are standing up or sitting down due to the design of the comfort height.
A water efficient toilet that only uses 1.28 GPF - saving up to 16.5k gallons of water per year. With such a lower water usage, it makes this toilet waterSense certified.
Power is not sacrificed due to less water use due to AquaPiston technology - powerful flushing capacity - say goodbye to your 1 kg of poo.
Buyers should note that this is a two-piece model and not a one-piece. Even so, it is easy to consider it as the best two-piece model on the list. There are much better two-piece models that put off the Cimarron away in the category of the design; nonetheless, for general function and sturdiness, this is the greatest you can get in a two-piece.
Clients that go for looks will purchase other specific products of Kohler on the list, however, if it’s all about just about acquiring the top product that is not only cost effective and gets the job done, then this model will fit you best.
What We Like:
- Flushes fairly quiet and refills quickly
- Powerful flushing capacity - AquaPiston technology
- Water-efficient toilet (1.28 GPF) - WaterSense certified
- Tank refills quickly
- Seat and lid included
What We Don't Like:

3. Kohler K-3987 Wellworth
The seat is not included, but it is a round bowl for those that are interested. This offers a lot of opportunities for customers to place their preferred soft or wooden bowl on the toilet instead of opting for the version of the manufacturer.
The toilet is a little smaller than the standard, but does a good job of still being comfortable to sit on by fully grown adults of all sizes.
An advantage here is that it also functions well in a smaller bathroom or a half bathroom.
What makes this product stand out from the normal two-piece toilet is that the left-hand trip lever gives the user the option of either 1.1 or 1.6 gallons per flush.
A water efficient two-piece is hard to find, and one that also offers a power option alongside that efficiency is also rare.
Making use of the Wellworth is a great wonder, and is among the enhanced offerings on this list.
What We Like:
- Round bowl saves room space
- Dual flush toilet offering 1.1 GPF or 1.6 GPF
What We Don't Like:
- Seat not included
This model is a favorite of customers and remains to sell out yearly - a daring design built upon a foundation of a water efficient system.
The Memoirs is a round front bowl toilet that uses a hard to find Stately design, looking just as distinguished as it is functional.
Kohler was able to make the design work and by taking little space, and in that manner shoppers can put it in any bathroom setting.
Only using 1.28 GPF, the AquaPiston canister flushes the waste downward and is pulled down by it through the pipes in a way that there is no chance of it coming back up.
Like all comfort height products, users will enjoy sitting on this toilet.
Water flows throughout the bowl a full 360 degrees and offers the best coverage of any toilet on the list when cleaning the bowl.
The Memoirs is a special breed, though, and has sufficient design quirks to warrant it a notable centerpiece within the bathroom as well as being so full of flair. It will be notable just as the designer toilets on the list, and all minus the expert flowers or buds.
What We Like:
- Comfort height - Ideal for most adults and elderly with weak knees
- Powerful flushing capacity
- Water efficient toilet (1.28 GPF) - water saving
What We Don't Like:
- Seat not included
- Pricey - but worth it

It has really good flushing power due to the AquaPiston canister - this allows water to flow into the bowl from all sides, increasing the power and effectiveness of the flush.
With a durable canister design, it has leak-free performance due to 90% less exposed seal material.

The flush is triggered through a chrome trip lever. The bowl’s shape, the seat’s height, and the trip lever is Kohler’s manner of saying that it is compliant with ADA.

History
The history of Kohler begins in 1873, with a start of many bold business attempts.
29-year-old Austrian immigrant John Michael Kohler bought the Sheboygan Union Iron n’ Steel Foundry. The firm got its successful start producing cast iron and steel implements for farmers, castings for the city's furniture factories, and ornamental iron pieces that included cemetery crosses, urns, and settees.
A vital turning point dawned in 1883 when John Michael took hold of another courageous idea to increase the quality of his customers' life. By adding a baked enamel coating to a Kohler horse hog scalder, he had produced the first bath tub for Kohler Company. Kohler was in the plumbing business.
Comparison to Other Brands
Ever wondered what a plumber would put in their own home? It would be none other than a Kohler toilet.
Plumbers have a preference working on Kohler products as well as buying them for their personal use. This is because the mechanics of a Kohler toilet are a lot simpler than other brands. This includes their two piece and one piece models.
The Kohler Company does not go for the easy out when constructing their toilets, so it’s rare to have a faulty product. And if it’s that time you need to call a plumber, they will be pleased to find out that it is a Kohler.
Final Thoughts - The Winner?
So there we have it, our top Kohler toilets for 2020.
As alway, I get people asking me, “but Tim, even though Kohler is among the top toilet brands in the industry, which one do you recommend?"
It’s hard to say since everyone is different, but if I had to answer, then the best kohler toilet would be...
